Getting started4 min read

Bring your existing property records.

Prepare files, review the mapping and agree the starting balances.

Illustrative example

These guides explain the documented Bunkfox workflows. The website is an interactive preview; it does not change live property records.

01

Prepare the source files.

Assisted migration works from reviewed PDF and Excel records. Gather property and resident details, room or bed assignments, rent dues, deposits and any supplied payment history.

Keep original files and explain what each total means. A deposit held and unpaid rent should not be combined into a single unexplained number.

02

Review how the records are mapped.

The team maps the supplied information to Bunkfox records. Review the proposed properties, residents, stays and financial purposes rather than assuming every row can be imported safely.

Missing, unclear or unsupported information should be identified in the review. This is assisted migration, not a promise of automatic extraction from every file.

03

Agree the starting position.

Review the proposed opening balances and any reliable history supplied. Confirm the date those balances describe and keep already-recorded payments from being counted twice.

Review exclusions as carefully as included records. The import should make clear what will enter the workspace and what still needs attention.

04

Approve the reviewed import.

The owner reviews the proposed import and exclusions before it proceeds. Service terms, any charges and the import plan need to be agreed separately; no turnaround time is promised here.

After the import, check selected resident records against the source: property, bed, rent due, deposit held and confirmed receipts. Invite residents once the starting records are ready.
